HERE'S MY STORY*:

Back in 2008, after enduring 15 years in a painfully empty marriage, I separated from my former spouse.
I boarded a plane, traveled 1200 miles with my 3 kids, and moved into mom's house -so that I could somehow, someway...begin a new life.
Soon, I had to rely on government assistance to help feed my kids. (I never expected mom to provide for me, especially since she, herself, was facing financial struggles.)
After a few months, I finally landed a steady job in Corporate America, and soon after that, I'd be moving with my kiddos into our new little apartment.
And that's when I bumped into an old friend who I had met many years prior...a former co-worker, in fact. We met for coffee on several occasions, and chatted for hours, talking about 'old' times. Things moved rather quickly, and after a few weeks of courting, he said...
"You deserve to be loved. I'll help you, and I'll take care of you."
Those words, to my then-muddled & vulnerable self, blindly (and quite dangerously) 'filled' the void I had been feeling for the many years up until then.
Regrettably, not long after succumbing to the wooing, I allowed him to move into my apartment. And that's when it began. That's when I became the victim of his quickly intensifying verbal, and then physical abuse.
Not long after, our family received the shocking news of mom's diagnosis of Stage 4 Cancer.
I remember hearing the news, and feeling like alcohol was being poured into freshly-gouged wounds.
I, intently, hid my pain...and what I was experiencing at home...from everyone.
After repeated 'incidents' I would dare tell no one (and, practically, losing my complete sense of worth and dignity), I had become increasingly depressed and distant.
I had gained almost 50 lbs, and felt like a BIG ZERO with nothing to be excited about...ashamed of my mistakes...embarrassed at my life choices...stuck in my own weakness...literally, bruised & battered...just wallowing in the crippling monotony of my misery...while hiding from (almost everyone in) my family.
Yet, with all that, somehow...my mom knew.
I guess she knew in the way only a mother could ever know that her child is in pain.
I'll save the details for another time, but let's just say that if it weren't for her...
I might not be alive today.
And I remember that feeling...that nauseatingly ill feeling...of helplessness, hopelessness, failure, guilt, and disgust.
I WILL NEVER FORGET IT.
Not just for what I had been going through, but for what my mom had to witness...what she felt compelled to do as my mom to help me...while suffering from her own pain...and the fear that -no doubt- ran rampant in her mind...while cancer ravaged her body.
In fact, it was in the gravity of those feelings that my circumstances became so, glaringly, evident to my once-blinded eyes...and would soon become the impetus for massive change -because it helped me to develop the grit to take massive ACTION.
Yet, it wasn't just massive action, but CONSISTENT massive action that moved me in the complete opposite direction of everything I had been feeling...and in the direction of everything I WANTED to feel.
You see, I couldn't control or prevent cancer from attacking my mom, but I could control and prevent what I had allowed to come into my life, and attack ME.
I could control ME.
And in doing so, I could allow for the abundance that I desired, that I worked hard for, and that I deserved...
to come into, and be present, in my life.
And THIS is what serves as the very foundation for my coaching practice...
and the reason WHY I've developed the unrelenting resolve and passion for helping you today.
I will not allow the struggles of my past, nor the struggles of those before me...
to have been suffered in vain.
(And neither should you.)

In November of 2010, I met a man who I know was placed on this earth for me. He would be 'The One' to truly evidence a tender love for me...in countlessly beautiful ways.
And, with my mom's blessing (whispered to me shortly before her passing in April of 2011), he proposed marriage not long after, just as she foretold he would.
Edward and I were married in the Summer of 2013.
With his love & support, I left the corporate world behind and built two successful coaching practices, where I serve to help men and women to completely transform their Marriage into the Married Life of their dreams.
Together, Edward and I have built an abundant life that continues to evolve in so many incredible ways.
And, we've really only just begun!
